Local Library Metadata
Find comic details and covers, review matches, and correct your local library's records.
Metadata is the information about a book, such as its title, publisher, issue number, and creators. Suwatte can read information stored with your files and find more details through Comic Vine or Metron.
Connect a Provider
- Open Settings → Manage Providers in the Local Library Metadata section.
- Select Comic Vine or Metron.
- Enter the credential requested on that screen.
- Select Connect.
- Choose a Primary Provider on the Manage Providers screen.
Provider choices apply to this device. Credentials are saved securely in the device’s Keychain. Use Test Stored Credential to check a saved sign-in.
Match New Items
Turn on Automatically Match New Items to look for matches as new local books are added. Turn on Only over Wi-Fi to limit matching to Wi-Fi connections.
Suwatte sends comic details to the provider to find a match. It does not upload your book files. Incognito Mode pauses matching.
An uncertain match can need your review. Open Settings → Metadata Activity and select Needs Review to compare suggestions. Select Choose Another Match when none of the suggestions is right. Use Skip for Now to leave the decision for later.
To correct an existing match, open the local title’s menu and select Change Match.
Correct Book Details
Open a local title’s menu and select Edit Details. Change the title, summary, publisher, date, or other fields, then select Save.
Provider refreshes keep your edits.
Clear an edited field to restore the provider’s value for that field.
For creators, enter one person per line in the format Name | Role.
Check Matching Activity
Open Settings → Metadata Activity in the Local Library Metadata section. This screen shows matching states, recent activity, and provider delays.
- Re-match Unmatched Items searches again for books without a match.
- Retry Waiting Matches retries work that is waiting.
- Refresh Provider Metadata updates provider details and artwork while keeping your edits and manual matches.
If a provider limits requests, wait until the displayed pause ends. Repeated retries do not remove the provider’s limit.
Clear Recorded Metadata
Clear All Recorded Metadata removes local matches, edits, and recorded details. It keeps your files, reading progress, provider sign-ins, and manually chosen folder roles. Details can return after a later scan.
Use this action only if you want to discard the recorded metadata and your corrections.
